As a result of this life-changing event, Mr. Jaraysa, a native of Beit Sahour near Bethelehem in Palestine, was introduced to the Holy Child Program, a school and counseling center with services dedicated to traumatized children operated by the Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist. He worked closely with the school staff for many years experiencing first hand both the difficulties confronting traumatized children and the joy of helping them overcome obstacles to healing. He taught at the school for five years before coming to the United States in 2001.
Mr. Jaraysa plans to return to the school in 2009 following completion of his Masters Degree in Social Work.
